01 Sep Residents Rejoice in a Variety of Great Music This September
It’s September—the start of fall is right around the corner, and so is a variety of great musical performances for our residents to enjoy.
On September 7th, Sima Kustanovich, one of the Northeast’s most sought after pianists, will join Marc Thayer, a violinist and Executive Director of Symphony New Hampshire, for a lovely evening of classical music. Both musicians are highly acclaimed at the local and international level, so it is safe to say that all residents who attend this performance are bound to love what they hear.
Then on September 11, jazz duo John Clark (clarinet/saxophone) and Henry “thins” Francis (piano) will entertain residents with a mix of well-loved classic tunes and unique arrangements bound to become instant favorites.
A fun-filled evening of post-dining musical entertainment is scheduled for September 14, as “Dan & Friends” Dance Band makes its Southgate debut. It promises to be a performance that will delight and entertain all ages.
There is no instrument quite as profound as the human voice, and you can hear it at its peak as jazz vocalist Wendee Glick shows off the talents that have made her famous in New England Jazz clubs since 2002. Her performance is scheduled for September 18, so be sure to put it on your calendar.
Piano fans have another chance to partake in an evening of music later in September, as classical pianist I-Heung Lee takes to the stage on September 26. She will play a selection of Chopin, Czerny, Bach, Liszt along with pieces by other famed composers.
September’s music selections wrap up with vocalist Jim Porcella on September 28. He is a jazz performer whose style has been compared to Mel Torme. It is bound to be a laid-back, soulful performance that all residents will enjoy.
